Timber

Engineered timber

Engineered timber is made from short pieces of wood joint, glued, compressed and laminated together to form longer length timber without knots, splits and stains.

This solution makes engineered timber stronger and more less likely to warp or twist in wet and humid conditions compared to solid timber.

Wood species

Pine - softwood

Main and most used softwood for our windows and doors. We are using slow growing pine from Nordic forests. Pine is soft, has medium density and is easy to work with. Knots are tightly fixed in the timber and are small in size. Being less expensive than hardwood, pine is often the choice of timber when considering your budget.

Oak - hardwood

Oak wood is characterized by a very good hardness and mechanical resistance, in particular to compression and bending, but also resistance to fungus and mold attacks. It presents a pleasant colours stratification, from the yellowish sapwood to the brown heartwood.

Red grandis - hardwood

Red Grandis is stable, durable and dense hardwood . The colour can vary to almost white to light pink or dark red. Typical uses for this timber are windows, doors, and all aspects of external applications. It is particularly well suited to large items such as door frames as it comes in long engineered lengths so it is less likely to bow and warp; this in turn reduces the need to overlap and finger joint frames.

Meranti - hardwood

Meranti is a soft to firm hardwood timber. This timber is exported from South-East Asia. It belongs to the mahogany species. Meranti is not subject to warping or twisting and is dent resistant. It has natural resistance to rot and moisture, insects and sunlight exposure

Finish

Windows and doors can be finished in any RAL colour or combinations of colours.

RAL is a colour standard created in Germany in 1925, which is widely used when choosing paint colours for painting various surfaces. It is a versatile and widely used colour palette throughout Europe and beyond. RAL Classic consists of 216 Colours. The RAL Design collection includes 1,825 colours. The colours of RAL Classic and RAL Design do not intersect.

You can view RAL colour collections here.
To ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance, our windows have 3 coats of sprayed microporous water-based paint.

Applied in controlled environment, multi-porous spray paints cover all concealed areas of the windows and doors, and are up to 6 times thicker than brush applied paints or stains, therefore offering a long service life with just simple maintenance.

They minimise discolouration, maximise durability and protect against problems such as blue stain and mould.

Glass Options

We have a huge rage of different types of glass to choose from.

low-e glass

Low-E Glass is used as a standard in all our windows and doors.

It is specially treated with a microscopically thin, virtually invisible transparent coating on one surface. The coating reflects heat back into the building, thereby reducing the heat loss through the window.

toughened glass

Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. Toughened glass is used where strength, thermal resistance, and safety are important.

laminated glass

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. It provides even greater security levels than toughened glass, and it offers better levels of sound reduction and thermal insulation.

acoustic glass

Acoustic glass considerably reduces external noises, especially near busy areas such as motorways, main roads , railways and airports.

obscure glass

Obscure Glass available in various patterns to suit all locations and personal taste.

solar control glass

Solar Control Glass is a glass with a special coating designed to reduce the amount of heat entering a building. It reflects and absorbs heat as well as filtering light for reduced glare. Using a solar control glass can reduce the need for air-conditioning and blinds. There are many types of solar control glass offering different aesthetic options; tinted, reflective and neutral.

Stained Glass

Stained glass encapsulation is the sealing of a stained glass panel inside a double glazed unit to form three layers of glass. Some people refer to this process as Triple Glazing of stained glass and other refer to this as Double Glazing. However, both descriptions are referring to the same process.

Encapsulation of the stained glass is not only the perfect option for increasing the energy efficiency and security of your stained glass windows, it also adds value to your home.

Stained glass cannot be used as the outside pane of a double glazed unit because it is not air tight and as a result condensation will form in the space between the stained glass and the clear glass layer.

Multi Point 833 automatic locking system by Fuhr

The multisafe 833 is a reliable multipoint locking device, which combines automatic locking functionality to protect a property from unauthorised access from the moment the door is closed. The lock also helps to prevent warping of doors by holding the door in place by all locking points rather than relying on the home owner to lift the lever.

On closing the door, the latches turn into solid latching deadbolts throwing 20mm into the frame to provide security against forced entry. Night/child proof the lock with a simple key turn, the interior lever is blocked and the main bolt locked. Unlocking from the inside is easy by operating the lever handle. This is ideal when you are in a hurry, the door automatically locks on closing.

The multisafe 833 provides the perfect security for main entrance door.

Weatherseal By Deventer

Deventer weather seals offer complete solutions for windows and doors. Wind, water, smoke and fire are the types of conditions these protect against. Not only do they protect against the elements but are also a useful addition to minimise energy waste by keeping warmth in and stopping draughts. With rainstorms and strong wind becoming more frequent, the functioning of your windows and doors can be easily affected so administering these seals will aid this.

Seals have been substantially tested and the quality of their design means they are incredibly resistant to water and wind. For reinforcement, all seals can be applied to windows and doors that are wind and water tight. The special closed cell structure that these seals are made up of is the reason that the seals are so effective and resilient against the elements.
